Gen. Chesty Puller (Marines ooooorah) said that at the chosen resovoir in the Korean war.
"and we are not retreating, we are just attacking in a different direction." (because they were surrounded)
That was the other quote.

It sounds like something Gen. Smith, commander of the 1st Marine division might have said at the Chosin Resevoir, during the Korean conflict.
