Ok Im getting ready to turn 15.. please read inside?

Question

I want to join the military when i turn 17. What do you have to be able to do? And for all of the pepole that has been in the military what is it like?

well, you can't deploy until you're 18. I'll give you the army minimums for the PT test (not the entrance fitness test):
push-ups: 42
sit-ups: 52 (I think)
2 mile run: 15:54

the first two events are in 2 minutes.

At 17 your parents have to sign a consent form. Asking what the military is like is a pretty hard question to answer. It all really depends on the branch of service and the person joining. I can tell you that the Marine Corps for me was not as bad as I had heard from my father who was in the Navy and I can also tell you that I would never had thought of joining the Army or the Air Force. Not because they don't deserve respect, but I wanted to join the best.

Just wait till your 17 and your parents sign the papers. Other then that just be motivated and know this is the decision you are strongly behind. There really not much you can work towards on the outside other then you physical fitness. Everything else you will learn while in training.

If you are in decent shape physically, you should opt for the Marine Corps. Getting in is a bit harder, but we have shorter deployments, and there are less of us so theres a definite feeling of superiority over the army (Arent Ready for Marines Yet) or the (ch)air force. I advise you to think twice, being a soldier is pretty hard and your live is always as risk. take your time and consider other path....but answering your question I think if you are under age you are gonna need your parents approval.
