I used to take different meds for my anxiety such as zoloft, paxil, lexapro... but they never really helped me too much. So now my Dr. gave me .5 mg pills of alprazolam to take (only before i know i will be in an anxoius or stressful situation such as presentations or big group meetings, cus thats only really when i get anxious). Anyways.. will that .5 mg be enough dosage to work since I have already taken all those other medications previously?

it is a good start, more than this may make you drowsy more than less anxious, good luck

Your doctor can increase the dose if it is insufficient. It's better to play is safe than send you out into the world in a haze. Medication reactions and tolerances can be highly individual.

.5 at first is a lot, believe me. But the effects wear off over time. I've been on it for five years now and I'm on 3mg a day.

Why not try a solution that does not require the use of medication. Check out this site:

It has helped many people that have had panic/anxiety attacks....

All the best...

yes, it should unless you have high tolerance. also, try some deep breathing exercises, that might help too.
