Maybe if he was to be standing right smack in front of me, wearing a name tag saying "god", performing miracles, correcting all the bad in the world, with my grandma in tow telling me those last precious words she just couldn't manage to get out, with an answer to every question I have ever asked. Other than that...no way.

I've got to agree with the first answer. The Creation-Science and the big bang theory are more logical Life-You don't need a god to explain life; science does quite nicely The Bible-A book; just because some wrote, say, The Fox and the Hound doesn't mean animals really talk Matter-proof of the universe's existence, not god's All of the Physical Universe-the universe exists, what more do you want, this is not proof of the existence of a god The Human Brain-Humans have brains, so what, this does not prove that a god exists Infinite...-Infinite what?, still not proof of anything.

Your version of proof is just a grouping of buzzwords the church likes to use instead of trying to come up with anything based on logic.

Anybody who phrases a question as you have can't possibly follow a logical argument, so this is pointless, but here goes nothing.

1) "The Creation." This is a purely biblical, that is to say, mythological, account of how things came to be. Acceptance of "The Creation" demands faith, which is the furthest thing from "concrete proof" conceivable. Next!

2) "Life." Life in itself is not a demonstration of God's existence. To say "I don't know how life came to be" does not mean that "God made it," and therefore God exists - it just means "I don't know how life came to be."

3) "The Bible." Why even dignify this with an answer. See 1.

4) "Matter." See 2.

5) "All of the Physical Universe." See 4, which refers you to 2.

6) "The Human Brain." See 2. Also try using your own.

7) "Infinite..." This means nothing.

BTW I'm not an "atheist." There is no "concrete proof" that God does NOT exist, either.

Actually BCE (before common era) is the current standard... it's not BC anymore. BC was used as a benchmark since at the time, Christianity had a strong hold on the world. Any western culture uses this, not because they believe in Jesus, but because it is a common measurement. This is the same reason scientists and historians use it... by claiming something came from 700 B.C. is not an indication that that person believes that Jesus is Christ.

As for proof... let's have god show himself to everyone... have him send out a press release to Fox news that we should all go out and look at the sky on a pre-determined time/date so that he can show his face to everyone and tell us exactly what we are supposed to believe... until then, it's just power hungry men in silly white costumes.

That is the problem.

No proof exists.

None of the things you listed are proofs.

Clearly you don't understand what a proof is.

Part of the problem is that people gave up on proofs hundreds of years ago. With the development of science, what is desired is the verification of the existence of God, not a proof.

The verification would require a testable hypothesis. That is the problem. Coming up with a testable hypothesis.

For example, if you were to say your hypothesis were "God exists", I would say, OK, but that is not a testable hypothesis. There is no way to test a statement like that.

The existence of the material world or any part of it does not require the existence of God to explain it. God is just not necessary to understand our world. Excess baggage.

But also be aware that using God to "explain" the world doesn't really accomplish that task. You could substitute any word in place of "God" and you have just as much validity. You can say that Unicorns created the world and your statement will be just as valid (or invalid) as to say that God did it. It doesn't explain anything.

Just because you don't understand the world and feel the need to play the God card, doesn't mean that others feel the same need. Feelings don't prove anything. And they don't verify anything too.

Asking "what proof is there for god" is on the same level as the question "what proof is there for the color of Thursday". Both are nonsensical and possess the same worthless logical status and therefore cannot possibly yield meaningful results.

To even posit that, “A ‘God’ might exist, however improbable” would be to consider the term as meaningful from this particular approach – a view that shall be considered here as a false assumption.

This is a common question. I take issue with #3 in particular. The bible is a book. Paper bound in leather. With words. Written by men. Men are fallible. It's no different than any other book, except that you believe what's written in it. All your other arguments stem from that one book, which makes the argument invalid. No scientist would look at one piece of evidence and say "Okay, that's all I need to see, here is my conclusion." Because you trust that what that book says is true, you don't look any further for answers. That book is the only "proof" you have, which is based only on faith, with no hard, incontrovertible evidence that it's true. Personally, I find it hard to believe man was created from a lump of clay. There are plenty of other theories, all of which seem infinitely more plausible than that one. Proof? God can come and sit down for coffee with me and we'll discuss it, if he wants my soul that badly.

You're right. The creation of the universe, the complexity of the universe, and the complexity of the human brain are all evidence that Zeus exists!

See? Any other religion could take all those things you call "evidence" and claim them as their own. I don't want proof that there was "a" creator; I want proof that the CHRISTIAN God exists. From what you're saying, you can't even tell if there were several "creators"!

Actually, the system is starting to change from BC to BCE (Before common era) and AD to CE (common era). Many public schools are starting to make that conversion.

And I would still love to hear your answer to what I posted above.

1 - I do believe that this world was not created by the "Big Bang", evolution, etc.
2 - Yes, I do sense something spiritual about life
3 - Now this is where I draw the line. I refuse to believe in something that men wrote claiming that they have been divinely inspired by God, how do we know this??? How do u know that these men didn't write the bible as a means of control?? And please don't try to convince me by quoting me stuff from it because that's still man's words, not Gods! But to use the bible as a means of inspiration or as a guide is ok. But to use it as the ultimate truth......that's insane!
4&5 - that's all in the creation
6 - Yes, I don't believe that our brains formed from nowhere
7 - Nothing on this earth is infinite

Some once told HMS Richards that they don't believe in anything they don't see; therefore they don't believe in God. Richards then said, 'Have you ever seen your brain?'

There is a God that created everything wheather you believe it or not. We don't see our brain but that doesn't mean it is not there. We can see evidence that it is and the rest is by faith.
God sent His Son to die for you so that you CAN talk to Him and that you CAN listen to what He sais. I have talks with Him every morning. No, not only me talking to the air but He Himself responds in miraculous ways. If you haven't known, God has already said everything He needs to say through His Word. Read it and you will see that He speaks to you.

The Pharisees asked Jesus to do miracles for them and read the answer He gave here: http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Mat%2016:4&version=31;
or in Matthew 16:4.

Do you breath? God is the one that gives it to you freely. Are you healthy? He keeps you going. God gives evidence of His existance but we don't want to see it. Just look at the stars. There are billions of galaxies and each galaxy has trillions of stars. The other thing is that some of these galaxies are like a fiery spinwell. Why don't they colide? Why are we still here?
The Bible is a collection of books, for that is what the Greek word means. But it is not just a book. It all depends on faith, which is trust. If you have no faith you will die. We are created to have faith. Why do you think there are so many religions out there? Yes, even atheism is a religion. You see, you have to believe that there isn't a God because there is no way to prove that.
I see many evidences that there is a God. One of them is me but the biggest evidence is prophecy. Read Daniel and Revelation, they go hand in hand, and you will see that God predicted the rise of Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece, Rome, the splitting of Rome in 10 and guess what's next... Jesus' coming. All has happened as the Bible predicted and the last piece in the puzzle will be fulfilled as the Word of God says. Scientists always tried to prove the Bible wrong but now they have come to use it as a guide because most of them have found that it is the only holy book out there that has no flaws in it... Why is that? Because it is the true Word of God.
God wants you to be saved really bad but it is you who don't let Him. If He would come down to have a talk with you, you would PERISH! He knows better. Why don't you give Him a try?
Since when is God responsible for all the bad in the world? You should start reading the Bible and you will see that satan is the one responsible. God cannot go against the Ten Commandments. That is His character but satan is the one that changed the Ten Commandments to show his character and write it in the human hearts... Who's character are you perfecting?
