Kat should we send the S.S. after nine year olds too? Give me a break people the Secret Service should investigate legitimate threats but I don't think we should even be monitoring everything a leagl citizen types...but thats just me I guess.

What we are talking about is not an actual threat if everytime a little girl wished someone dead thay tossed her in gitmo we would need more secret prisons.

The point isn't ascertaining the President's safety, it's to assert what he mistakenly believes is his unlimited power and to strike fear into anyone who would oppose.
Of course they know a 14 year old spouting off on MySpace doesn't represent a true threat.

oh please... you are not really defending that girl are you? It is against the law to make any threat of any kind towards the president whether you are 14 or not. What that girl did was inexcusable and everyone needs to stop making excuses for her and putting blame everywhere except where it belongs.. on her... the Secret Service did a good job.. hopefully they scared the crap out of her... they didn't torture her, they didn't put her in an integration room.. they just told her the way it is.. and "yelled at her and were unnecessarily mean to her".. please.. when a 9 year old little boy or girl steals something, cops scare them so that when they are older they don't become thieves.. same concept.. so what exactly did the Secret Service do that was so wrong? The girl obviously has issues.. and need therapy rather than have anyone defend her and her excuses.
OK.. your response just made me realize why you are backing the girl up... you have no common sense.. the reason I gave a 9 year old as an example of the police scaring kids, because normally you are not arrested for stealing under the age of 10, they usually just try to scare them, so they think about it first next time... if you are 14 and you steal then you get arrested.. obviously the SS is not going to arrest the 14 year old girl they just want her to think next time before she does something stupid. What she did was wrong, what she did was illegal, so yes they should have scared her... she was not under arrest, she was in no way shape or form mistreated... they only wanted to tell her what can happen... because in 4 years if they hadn't stopped her.. she would have definitely been arrested....So good job SS for taking the time to help our younger generation know what is right and wrong.. since her parents obviously are not taking the time to do so....

Yes, all threats should be taken seriously. It's not funny to even talk about killing someone as a joke. So what if she's fourteen years old? Twelve + year olds are already carrying guns around and having sex. Just because they may look nice doesn't mean they can get off the hook. So she got questioned? Big deal. That's what you get for making a threat like that thinking it will go unnoticed.
And, what does this have to do with immigration?

Reality check-we are a country at war...even if you do not agree with your leaders repect the office and watch your wording...there are much more productive ways to effect social change than to post death threats on the internet....all serious threats must be investigated...the treasury guys were just doing their jobs,i'm international press and have had the privilege of working side by side with the secret service on several occasions...they are pros ,usually very courteous and efficient and are easier to work with than the average hollywood bodyguard or concert security guard....hey guys please add this to my NSA file.....have a nice day

"The incident has upset her parents, who said the agents should have included them when they questioned their daughter."
Better if the parents had pointed out how upset they are to discover that they've raised a moron.
"On Friday, the teenager said the agents' questioning led her to tears."
Oh, well, boo-hoo - no little girl should EVER have to cry again; and certainly not for threatening the President's life!!!
"I wasn't dangerous. I mean, look at what's (stenciled) on my backpack - it's a heart. I'm a very peace-loving person," said Wilson, an honor student who describes herself as politically passionate."
Uh-huh - just another peacenik, is that it?
Do you think this wackjob will actually use her little honor student birdbrain the next time she exercises her 'political passions'?

A possible threat, and one that had to be investigated by LAW.
We've had many shootings committed by teen girls in California...and around the nation. Stuff your whining liberal crap into your bong and smoke it.

every threat is taken seriously, mush like all the "no-tolerance" rules in all the public schools.
didnt that little moonbat learn anything in school? Are "killing the president" values that are taught in california public schools?
