Get yourself a hot glue gun. You want to make a little puddle of glue & just barely dip the ends into it. Also, if you want to give the ribbons more shape, and you're using a grosgrain ribbon, you can actually use a small curling iron set on the low temp to curl the ribbon.

Fray Check you can get it a Joann's or Walmart
It hardens the ends so they don't fray anymore. Works on all fabrics and ribbon

Light up a match stick and bring it close to the ribbon frills, let it melt a little and bring it away.

put a little bit of clear nail polish, on the end and let it dry over night, in the morning it will finished off nicely.

just cut the frayed ends and then use a little hot glue and tap it on a old magazine or something to even it out!
