That's the catch-22, eh?
Do you have a full-time job that gives you a decent salary? Credit card companies look at that. Is one of your parents willing to co-sign for you?
Do you have any bills in your name (cell phone? cable? Anything. If those companies show that they've always been paid on time, it reflects well upon you).
Consider applying to a different card, maybe one that's designed for students. Good luck!

Many credit card companies actively seek out college students and don't expect a credit history. Is there a bulletin board at the student center with credit applications available? When I was in school a few card issuers actually set up tables in the food court during registration week.

Apply for a secured line of credit card and after a few months, it will appear that you are responsible enough to handle credit. It will be easier to apply and be accepted if they see some type of payment history on your credit.

Start by going to your bank and asking for a small loan, resist temptation to spend the money once you're approved. Put the money in a savings account. When your monthly payment is due, take the monthly payment out of your savings account. Pay off the loan a few months early.

try a different credit card. A lot of credit card companies are pretty picky about those kind of things. You might want to try Chase or Citi card. Please be careful as you may get overboard. I did.
