I make my egg sandwich by frying my egg, putting mayo on my bread and adding a slice of cheese on it.

Was curious if you guys added more than that to yours, or if you cooked it differently.

Please share your ideas w/ me and anyone who reads this.

Lightly toast 2 pieces of a whole-grain bread (a little nuttiness and flavor)

Spread lightly with mayo. Sometimes I add a dash of hot sauce and 'stir' it in.

'Poach/fry' an egg (fry in a non-stick skillet with some cooking spray and a dab of butter, then add a tablespoon or so of water when the pan is hot and cover). I usually break the yolk to prevent a gooey mess later. Turn, add some grated Cheddar cheese, a dash of salt and some pepper. Toss in a little more water and cover. Remove from heat after a couple seconds to let finish cooking and melting.

Sometimes, I do a microwave variation- whip a couple eggs with a little melted butter, salt, pepper, shredded Cheddar or similar cheese. Microwave in short burts and gently fold and break up the 'curd'. I've been known to stir in a little drained pickle relish on the last zap. Remove while still very 'wet' and let finish on the counter while preparing bread.

Serve on bagels, English muffins, or toast

If I have some good biscuits, pancakes, bagels or croissants, and a few minutes to spare, I do the whole hot sandwich thing with the fried egg, cheese, and a sausage patty.

That's all I put on my egg sandwich. Sometimes I'll add a little dab of mustard but most times I stick to just egg and mayo.
