Could someone tell me where I might find the rules (laws) about how old a child is aloud to be when working in an eating establishment? Also how old must they be before they can go into a kitchen. I need some real proof to back up what I am saying.
We have a fundraising breakfast and the woman brings her 3 year old daughter to "help". All she does is get in the way among other things.
Any info would be a big help.

The state is PA. This is just a once a month fundraising event. Everything there is kept up to standards, everything is kept clean, everyone wears gloves, etc...
It's just the fact that this person is too cheep to get a baby sitter or to lazy to find someone that she can stay with for a few hours.
The little girl just got in everyone's way, was in the kitchen, eating in the kitchen area and spilling half the food on the floor. To top it all off I saw her playing in the garbage can and then putting her hands all over the cups and silverware that was sitting on the tables that are set up for people when they come in!
But in all this, I ended up being "wrong" for saying anything because if she couldn't bring her kid then they wouldn't beable to help!

Also, she is not "working". As I said the mother is to lazy to find someone to leave her with.
I just need to find some type of written leagal proof that she shouldn't be there (which of course everyone but the mother seems to know in the first place).
All I can find are laws about how many hours a minor (under the age of 18) can work, how much they can get payed, and what exactally they can do.
I can't find anything that states "a three year old should not be in a kitchen" so that I can show it to her mom and maybe she can realize it is illeagle and not only dangerous!!!
