Ceramic coated will protect your hair from frying under the heat.

I made the mistake of purchasing ceramic coated irons and the coating came of and stuck to my hair. I would definitely recommend the solid ceramic straighteners, I bought the medium sized GHD ones and they are fantastic and have gave me no trouble. If there was to be a problem with a GHD product even after the first years warranty runs out you can send back your straighteners and they will replace them for you, it normally costs around £25.00 sterling.

I hope from my mistake you make the right choice all the best.

Ceramic coated hair irons are the best and a lot of people recomend GHD's, but there have been reports of electrical faults (as featured on BBC Watch Dog).

Hair Tools FHI Ionic straighteners are just as good and cheaper!

I have thick curly, frizzy hair and I've gone through 3-4 different types of straighteners before I found what I call my miracle straighteners. Their from Remington and their solid ceramic, you can purchase them from Argos(that's where I got mine).
