Depends what kind of terrain you hunt. What kind of prey they usaully feed on.Primos makes some of the finest mouth calls a person could buy. There are also a very big seletions of electronic callers on the market.Money wise your talking any where from $15.00 to $500.00.I would star with the electronic caller firtsThere is one made bye CASSCREEK GAME CALLS for about $20.00 and it works great. After your more wise to the art of predator calling then you can start playing with the mouth calls.Hope this has helped you.Get all the vermin you can.

I like mouth calls. If you haven't tried calling before, use a close reed call. They are the easiest to use until you get the hang of open reed calls. Some of the best closed reed calls are. Dan Thompson PC-1 and PC-2, Primos KiYi. Primos Catnip. There are several others but these are my favorite of the closed reed calls.
Now camo up with colors matching the terrain.
Sit in an area with fairly good visibility(this can be hard at times) I like to sit on a slight rise just so I can see over the sage brush. Wind is critical. I try to sit in a cross wind where I have good visibility down wind, they almost always come downwind.
Sit in front of a bush or tree so that your outline is broken up and try to stay in the shade if you can.
Start calling softly getting slightly louder for 30-45 seconds. Wait 3-5 minutes then repeat. After calling for a while try to make it sound like the rabbit is getting tired though starting more urgent then tapering off the sound.

This will sound bad to all the animal rights people, but this works the best.
Tie a hungry kitten to a stake in the ground. This kitten will meow and meow which will attract coyotes from miles around. The only problem is you must shoot the coyote before it gets to the kitten. Otherwise you will go through a lot of kittens. I used this method, and I had coyotes jumping over dead coyotes to get to this kitten.
It works...

My experince varmint hunting has shown that a "wounded rabbit" call works best in most coyote range

my dad had a tape of rabbits screaming & he used it to get the coyotes to come...it worked too I can still see the poor things skins stretched out on boards in the basement. So get a rabbit & make it scream or find a tape or cd of them you might be able to find one in a hunting/ sporting goods store.

I have found that a good quality predator call works good, You should start quite and then build in intensity and volume.
The sound that you want to achieve is a waaa, waaa sound.
If laws permit using a decoy while calling greatly increases your chances, But watch that you don't lose your decoy to birds of prey.
