The confusion arises from the incorrect interpretation of the phrase "son of god". The phrase "son of god" was used by the Jews in the old testament many times. It was part of the Jewish language for thousands of years. However, it was never used to suggest that a certain person was an actual son of a god. The phrase was used to describe people who were either, prophets, or kings, or perhaps learned individuals who were considered closer to God. A better translation of the phrase, "son of god" whould have been "servant of God" or an "agent of God". The jews even used the word "god" to describe powerfull people. It was a figure of speech. Think about it, if the phrase, "son of god" meant actual begotten "Son of God", don't you think the Jews, who invented the phrase would have known about it.

So, all these words, the "Father", or the "Son of God" are all figurative and had very different meanings to the people (the Jews) who used it in their time.

And that's why Muslims don't use it that way. Just as the Jews, Muslim too, have words and phrases that they use one way and you may misunderstand their use completely.

One example, in India, people use the word "uncle" to address any male who is old enough to be their father. So a conversation that goes like, "...uncle, could you move your car out of the way, please...!" would have a very different meaning to you than it would to the people of India. Imagine, this conversation is translated from book to book over a thousand years and finally reaches you. it would be something like this: "...And he asked his uncle to move his car out of the way...". W#hich ofcourse is incorrect. To the Indians, uncle means anyone old enough to be their father.

It is not befitting to (the majesty of Allah) that He Himself should beget a son! He is far above this;for when He decrees a matter He need only say:''Be" and it is.Jesus (declared) Verily Allah is my Rabb and your Rabb:therefore, serve Him.This Is THe Right Way.Inspite of this, the sects from among them are divided (concerning Jesus). So woe to the disbelievers (who shall be punished) after witnessing (this Truth) on the Great Day (of Judgement). They will be able to see and hear very clearly on that Day when they will appear before Us! But today these wrongdoers,(neither want to hear nor see the Truth and) are in manifest error. ( O Muhammad), forewarn them about the Day of intense regret when this matter will be decided, (even though at present) they are paying no heed and do not believe.Ultimately, (all things will perish and) it is We, Who will inherit the earth and all that is o it, and to Us shall they return.

If he did then who created him? If he did then who is his wife? Then it will imply God was male??? DO you know if God is male or female. We say God is sexless he was not begotten nor did he begot for a reason. It would not be logical.... If we went with your argument for a sec then we must have two Gods (Hasha) Female and male and that takes away from teh oneses of God thus violating teh principal of God is one.... 1+1+1 != 1

39:4 Had Allah wished to take to Himself a son, He could have chosen whom He pleased out of those whom He doth create: but Glory be to Him! (He is above such things.) He is Allah, the One, the Irresistible.

but they are BOTH myths. chill out, go have a cup of starbucks and relax.

comparing them is like comparing harry potter novels to peter pan stories, and complaining and wondering why they don't agree with each other. relax! it's silly mythology!!
