Generally, I have always suffered from Winter depression. The sight of the first daffodill wakens me up and I am truly ready for the new year. Hopefully, that is followed quickly by the arrival of the first swallow (UK) and the call of the Cuckoo. These are the things that cheer me up no end and are better than any other tonic. I usually see the first swallows on the golf course and I always shout a loud 'welcome' on seeing them arrive. Great.....

A kind word from someone I care about...
When I am low, I feel that I have not been the sort of person that I should have been.
My wife told me recently that "I expect you to tell me everything that is on your mind for I love you with all my heart"
How can you stay low when a loved one gives you this kind of support?

It may seem a bit odd but stuffed animals. Hey lots of adults and elderly people collect them! :)

A friend of the opposite sex to hug you and say "I'm here for you" :) Works every time.
