I need to put my dogs into a kennels for two weeks in may. When and what injections do they need to have and how much will it cost. Also will the kennels take them if one of them can be a bit snappy with other dogs?

They will need to be fully up to date with Boosters and also have Kennel Cough vaccine. The last kennel I spoke to said that they have to have it at least 6 weeks before they go into kennels. Think it would probably cost about a tenner per dog to get the jab. It shouldn't matter that one of them is a bit snappy, I am sure that they have had worse!

Your dogs will have to be up to date with their boosters, some kennels even insist on them having kennel cough cover too, for two dogs it will cost you round about £80 for both lots of injections, but just for the booster round about £40, not too expensive for peace of mind, lots of kennels have double dog kennels so both your dogs can be in together in the same space and if you let the kennel people know one of your dogs is a bit snappy with other dogs they will walk them separate from all other dogs, kennels are really accommodating today and as long as they let you look round it and don't expect you to make an appointment first then you know you have a good kennel, have a good time and relax your babies will be fine.

if you are in UK..the dogs will need to be up to date with their vaccinations which the kenels will want to see. Ask the kennels what their policy is on the kennel cough vaccination and if you have insurance ask them aswell. The kennel cough vaccination is given through the nose and should be done about two weeks before their stay. The vaccination should be on average about £20 per dog. Dont worry if ne of the dogs can be a bit snappy with other dogs..they should not be excercised with other dogs while they are there..this helps prevent things like kennel cough from spreading. As long as the dog is not snapy with people..you should be fine. I will say this tho..make sure you get to view the kennels before the dogs stay..and that they stay for a couple of days before you are due to go away so they become accustomed to the kennels. Also the kennel cough vaccination does not cover ALL types of kennel cough...its like a cold..there are all sort of strains..so you are never truly covered. Hope i helped

Your vet will advise you on the vaccinations required. If your dogs have not had them before and up to date boosters, you will need to start the course pretty soon to ensure that the boarding kennel accepts your reservation.
Prices vary around the country - in the South East you can expect to pay 100pounds for a week for one dog. There will probably be a reduction for a second dog sharing a larger kennel. Your dogs should be exercised separately from other boarders and at least 3 times day so that it is not a stressful experience for them. Don't use a kennal that allows all the dogs to mingle - this is a sign of poor levels of care whatever they tell you.

they need to both have had the kennel cough vaccination along with seing their records to make sure that they have had their regular yearly jabs.most kennels take all dogs, snappy or not,but have a good look round a few before deciding on one.some kennels might look nice but you will get a feel for the people that actually run them and pick the one that makes you feel more at ease with, that way you know your dogs will be well treated.

They will need to have parvo and distemper injections. Also kennel cough. Depends how big the dog is on what the kennels will cost. Experienced kennels know how to look after all kinds of temprements. Just mention it to them. Turn up at the kennels one day and ask if you can look round. A good kennels will always allow this.

As long as you make sure your pets are up to date on their shots including bordatella (kennel cough) you should be fine.

There are alot of dogs who can be dog aggressive and if you take your dog to a reputable kennel they will be separated from dogs they dont know during the duration of their stay.

Tell the kennel about your pets prior to boarding them. If you prefer, alot of kennels can accommodate both of your dogs in the same "run" so they can stay together.

I strongly recommend you take a tour of the kennel befor bringing your dogs there. They are not all the same. An ideal kennel should have individual runs for 1 or more dogs from the same family. The "inside run" should have chain link fronts and solid sides to ensure privacy (after all any kennel can become chaotic at times), it should be cleaned on a daily basis and should have individual outside runs for "potty time". Find out of you should bring your own food or if they provide food. Ask them if they offer "play times" should you feel your dogs might need a little extra attention. Also ask about bedding and toys. Some kennels will provide blankets for your dogs and some will allow you to bring one from home (your scent can help keep them calm) as well as with your pets favorite toys.

I work at a boarding kennel and we don't refuse any dog whether there cute and cudley or nasty and want to kill us. as for vaccinations it depends what the kennel your going to use asks for we ask for the yearly boosters and canine cough. as for the price it depends what they charge, also make sure you can kennel them together as some only have one dog in each pen and that would make your snappy dog worse. the kennel i work at charges £14.25 for two dogs sharing the same pen which include VAT, full board and insurance in case anything goes wrong

most kennels require kennel cough, rabies and the rest depend on your area.

Some will take dogs that may snap at other dogs but I would avoid these since it may mean your dog is placed in a kennel and rarely let out
