I have read lots of very good success stories with Weight watchers...once you reach your target weight I believe you then get free membership so you can pop back from time to time just to keep you motivated and not slip back into old habits...

I lost 25 pounds in about 5 months (starting weight of 170).
That was about a year and a half ago. I've gained 10 back, so I need to start back.
I didn't go to the meetings- just the first one to get the books. If you are self-motivated, save the cash and skip the meetings.

My mom has tried Weight Watchers and loved it. She lost 25-30 lbs, but with her schedule it made it hard to go to meetings and weigh-ins. She still seems to eat by the "point system" and likes the freedom of it.

I tried Weight Watcher (twice) and failed, miserably.
Tried NutriSystem and am successful.

it is a really good program, if you can stay motivated. you can eat what you want as long as you stay within your points range for the day. it's much easier if you can get a friend to go with you to help you stay on track.
