I moved to a lovely part of SW Florida a few years ago just after 9/11. For a few years it was paradise here - palm trees, beaches, warm weather year-round... However, being a native NY'er I truly miss the culture, diversity, and hustle of NYC. My fear is the likelihood of future terror attacks upt here. What would YOU do? p.s. let's get rid of Bush!

BUSH SUCKS. DICK Cheney too! lol Stay in FL. I just got back from NY and it's still the same ol' BULL... I was there when that Yankee pitcher crashed his plane into a sky scraper in NYC.

Besides of getting rid of Bush and his whole cabinet I think you should get on your feet and move back if you miss it so much. The one thing that we can NOT do in the US (individually and as a Nation) is too live with fear. Because then those idiots have reached their purpose. I do get the way you feel, I work at an airport and it hasn't been the same since, sometimes it's very scary, but I will never give up !!! I refuse to let them rule my life and the way I live with their acts. Step up and get it going, after all needless is too say if is going to happen again no body knows when, where and if ?

Well if the fear of a terrorist attack is the only thing that's keeping you from going back to NY then go see a therapist to get over your fears. I think it's very natural to be afraid after such a horrible incident, but if you let your fears guide you, you'll be afraid wherever you are. But maybe, just maybe, you're glorifying NY because you have the feeling you can't go back there. Once you've dealt with your fears you can make a clearheaded decision whether to go back or not. In the meantime maybe you can visit people there and see how they cope with the fears they undoubtedly have. Good luck.

Bush won't be around forever. I wouldn't let anyone or thing keep me from living where I feel the best and most comfortable. I too am a transplanted New Yorker and would go back if I thought I could afford it.
