Should they then go to 2% or can you give them skim?

Usually around 2 years old is when most people switch to 2%. When my mom had my brother 21 years ago he had to be switched at a couple months because he was sucking the life out of her and the formula and still wanted more. My dad joked that he should just buy a whole cow and bring it home. But he is a lean man now!

We kept our kids on whole Vitamin D milk (I assume that's what you mean by **** milk?) for the entire first year. After that, we switched them to 2%.

Kids need the healthy fat available in milk, so unless they are overweight to begin with (some kids are these days, and their pediatricians have them on skim), your kids should probably stay on whole or 2% for several more years.

properly you dont prefer to take them off **** (homoginized milk) , Is your question whilst to take them off finished milk? if so maximum pediatrcains propose between 18 & 24 months. that's whilst a toddler not demands the further fat.

usually age 2 but if your child still needs to gain weight or maintain weight then its okay to leave on longer - its the fat content in teh milk that makes us switch to a lower %

if your child is generally underweight a pediatrician will tell you to stay on whole milk. other than that you can switch at age two.
