Good question, keep asking............

For me,

Gender: he/she really does not have a gender persay, however, we use gender in order to have a better understanding of whom god is for us. We are all these things, but find it most difficult to believe because of the fixed idenity that we have with gender.

Sexual Reproduction: a high order of creation, however, a very small part of what we are all about.

Impressions about God are based on the individual perceptions and on the scriptures one has read. As the human beings consist of both males and females,it is safe to presume that God will have the attributes of both these genders. It really does not matter to God though, how the viewer perceives Him/her/it. For the sake of writing `Him ` has become a common usage and thus the gender is generally taken as male. God of course knows better.

How about in French (and Spanish, I think, and likely many other languages) what is the gender of the pen, the table, etc., etc.

As for God (pure spirit), there is no "gender" in the sense of gender for "sexual reproduction". Neither in French do the pens, the tables, the doors, etc. 'sexually reproduce'!

However, for God, for angels, etc., etc., there is "gender" expressed for terms of relationship, etc. And without that, in the English language how could you refer to God? If not a He or a She, then just an "It" ... and that implies just a "force", not a "Person" or personality.

Try to realize that gender is not just for "sexual reproduction", though many seem to have their minds stuck in that rut!!

yes, God definitely does not have a gender. He is God, for god's sake. haha. He is the One who created everything, He is the one who created genders and stuff. God does not have anything that humans or animals or any other living thing has because He is above all of that. He has no partner, no spouse, no child. God is God.
However, we still call him He (notice how i said "He is God.... He is the One..... He is above all that"). His Godliness part does not have a gender, but we still refer to Him as a "He". So i guess in some perspective God is a He. but just because we call Him "He" does not mean He is a man or has a gender.
We call God "He" because that is how God revealed information to us.

look what i found (this is in the perspective of Muslims):

Question: I am kindly soliciting your immediate advise concerning the following issue. In the Holy Qur’an (or in any Islamic teachings) there is no mention that Allah (swt) possess a gender. How can i respond to somebody who believes and claims the following: “The fact that 'gender' is not mentioned in the Qur’an does not mean that Allah does not have gender. We simply do not know. It is Allah alone who knows best.” Your kind and immediate answers/clarifications shall not pass unappreciated.

Allah clearly says in the Qur’ân: “Say, He is Allah the One, Allah the Self-Sustaining. He begets not, nor is He begotten. And there is none like unto Him.” [Sûrah al-Ikhlâs]

Allah also says: “He created the pairs, male and female.” [Sûrah al-Najm: 45]

Attributes of gender are meanings that are dependent on a specific relationship to something else, specifically of a sexual nature. This is what gender literally means. There is no meaning to being “male” in the absence of something “female” and vice versa.

Gender, by definition, is a sexual orientation of something in relationship to some other gender. This will be the case, even if we entertain the possibility of genders other than male and female. Therefore, it is clear that Allah does not have a gender. He is the One. He begets not.

The same can be said for fatherhood and sonhood. There is no meaning to being a father except in relationship to a son or daughter. There is, likewise, no meaning to being a son except in relationship to the existence of a father.

Allah is the Creator of both sexes. We do not attribute being male or being female to Allah. We negate all attributes of deficiency. Allah begets not. He is one. We describe Allah as He describes himself and as His Prophet (peace be upon him) describes Him.

And Allah knows best.

God is genderless, but because of the poverty of language we must refer to him as having a gender. We cannot call him an "it" because he is a person, not an object or animal. He is referred to in the masculine sense because traditionally all priests and ministers have been men, and all of the writers of the Bible were men. To make an issue out of this is to fall into one of the devil's traps---the devil wants to keep your mind on petty things and keep you away from Jesus. Focus on Jesus and these things will not bother you. I am not criticizing----I know that you are just curious, and there is nothing wrong with that so long as you do not fixate on trivial matters. As the old hymn says: "Keep your eyes upon Jesus."

You make an excellent point! An omnipotent, eternal deity has no need for reproduction and no need for physical pleasure, thus, no need for a gender.

The reason god is depicted as a male is because humans tend to make our gods in our own image. Males are the dominant gender in our species, and since their god is dominant, it makes perfect sense that their god is also a male.

God is our Creater and Is the Father, the Word (Son) & the Holy Spirit. God created our sexuality and desires that comes with it.

The gender is male. Though the Holy Spirit part is genderless.

You are right. That's why all the fuss in our world today over gender, color, age, none of that will matter when we dye. It all ends becouse there will be no need for reproduction.

God is Spirit. Gender questions do not apply to God.

Seriously nobody fully know the gender of GOd . He mention in the bible Himself as a male so we can relate to Him. Won't you be weary of someone if it mention it is neither male nor female. Another point is that He is in spirit form as we are when we pass away. The spirit form doesn't difffer male & female as clearly as a physical form.
