Your family is going though a lot with him as a doctor. Find another one.Your mom shouldnt have any troubles swallowing pills unless there is another problem. It sounds like she needs a
gastroenterologist. She shouldnt be suffering. Good luck

If you would mention the pill we could help you more. There are dissolveable tabs that melt in your mouth, there are sprays, there are enteric coated pills that spare the stomach, there are suppositories and possibly something could be compounded for that, there are nasal sprays, there are skin patches, there are gtts (drops) so whatever the malady I think something could be worked out. If she has iron deficiency anemia then standard FeSO4 can be hard on the stomach but there are other preparations. Sometimes they give an IV solution until the normal parameters are met and then the pt. can maintain the level with any of the various oral types. Sometimes taking these pills with food helps alot. Hang in there the cavalry is around the corner, there's usually alternatives, it's just experimenting for awhile to see what works.

If she can't swallow tablets, certain medications are available in liquid/syrup form. I'm sure your mother's doctor isn't being mean - there will be a very good reason why she can't have any more injections. A doctor really wouldn't deliberately withold treatment - perhaps he just hasn't explained it very well. Try a different doctor.

Make her eat lots of green vegs, if I were you I would crash the iron tablets and sprinkle it in her dinner. See a doctor (not the same one!!!) and see what options she has, maybe she will be able to have more iron injections.

Maybe your mum should go see a stomach specialist, there has to be a reason why she's having so many problems eating and taking iron too !.

your mother needs to take the tablets its sounds like a bad idea not to.
It sounds like she will be in pain if she takes it or not but the long term benifits of taking the tablets will be much better than not taking them at all and she may get more ill if she stops.

They have concentrated medicine sometimes in a dropper like Morphine. I saw it on Magnolia. I'll bet it tastes like pure death, but it beats the alternative. I'll bet you could crush it and snort it like crack too. It sounds dumb, but once again it beats the alternative.
