You don't, because you cannot measure or foresee the consequences of the choice to tell a lie, therefore, there is really no such thing as a white lie, only a lie.
To tell a lie, is to recognize that it is a lie and choose it anyway... again, there can be no distinction between a "little" lie and a "big" lie...only lies. Finally, if you recognize it as a lie, it means that you are working against your own nature... and, when you do it anyway it can damage not only those around you but, your level of virtuousness, integrity, self-esteem, etc.

I am sorry to say but a lie is a lie. And either way you think of it a lie a not a good thing. One lie leads to another lie. And the best thing to do is tell the truth and you wont have to always remember to cover another lie up. If someone cant respect you for telling the truth that will be their problem not yours.

whites lies dont hurt, its just a little lie to get you out of a jam. if it hurts someone then it was not a white lie.
