Definitely makes it worse. People become dependent on it and crave it in between. Just like people with alcohol who use it to deal with social issues. You may need the assistance of an addicitions conselor. Despite what many people believe weed can be addicting as it now usually contains other crap mixed in with it. Please get some help.

I've experienced the same thing. I was a weed smoker for a very long time and at some point I got anxiety issues ( not because of the weed). The weed increased my anxiety but I found it very hard to give it up. At some point I got tranquilizers from my doctor. (for the anxiety attacks not for the weed). When I really wanted to smoke weed I took half a pill and the urge would go away. After two weeks I was completely weed-free. I took half a pill maybe four times. I experienced that being weedless wasn't so bad after all. It was a bit strange to face up to my life without the comforting haze of weed but I got used to that. I learned to cope with life without being doped out. I sleep better without weed, I feel better without weed and I've got more money to spare. All in all, quiting weed has proved to be much better than I ever expected it to be. And I smoked weed for twenty years so I know the difference between being stoned and being sober. I quit seven years ago.

Weed is great! I love it. So do not get me wrong. I think there is a sense of paranoia that comes from it. So, if your anxiety is from some paranoid thought you have then yes weed is making it worse. Also, if you are on a med for anxiety weed can interact with it, no one studies that so it is possible. I can also tell you that quitting is not hard at all as long as you are not near anyone who has it. I moved to a different city and ran out of my stash. I missed it but went months without until I went back home and got some more. It was no problem.

I also suffer form anxiety in the form of anxiety attacks, sleeplessness, etc. I have found after nearly 5 years since being diagnosed is the medications of ANY kind, legal or not, tend to make me worse. I was taking xanax for a while but became lethargic. For me, exercise and healthy eating make a BIG difference. Also, socialization seems to work for me. If I sit around the house I have too much time to think. Try to stay away from stimulants and go for a healthy, natural treatment. I firmly believe that much anxiety is self-induced. Sex is WONDERFUL for anxiety, as well ;-)

Different ppl respond differently to different drugs. Ha, I loved weed when I was a kid but hate it now - makes me really introverted and anxious. I've know ppl with ADD that it mellows out and makes them feel much more normal than medication - but that's way different disorder than GAD. Maybe weed's making things worse for you while getting you high enough not to care.???
You might try seeing a psychiatrist. There may be more effective meds for you. GAD is one of those things that therapy can help. That might be a better option if you're not ready to give up the dope.

I am a heavy thc user, its better to stay away. I get realy mad when iam not high so yeah its a very bad idea I thinbk. I wouldn't recommnd it even tho I still abuse it, Its bad if you become dependent. I have smoked heavy drugs before, and I cant let the herb go. Its like bad times when you out of it, and good times when you have it (eve tho u worry that you going to run out quick), so its consan worry about getting and staying high(dangerous).

You should give it up, it is making you more off balance. Try yoga or an herb that won't put you on a roller coaster, such as chamomile or passion flower. Weed makes people have terrible mood swings and puts your inner balance totally off. Your dependency on it will keep you from knowing your true inner peace.
