The way some of these people spell is pathetic. They don't even try one bit. You know, no capital letters, no punctuation and the words! Golly-gee, don't get me started on the way they spell the words. (I think I've made a few mistakes in these details but, at least it is readable.)

OH! I hear you! The grammar and spelling is pathetic. Since (I think) almost all machines have a spell check program available now and Yahoo offers spell check on this page, I can't help but think that theses people are just lazy. It's like going to work in a dirty stained t-shirt... And it's not small slips of the fingers either (which we all do) but then again that is what the delete button is for.
After grouching about it... I don't know why people don't check their work before they sent it... maybe they don't understand how stupid and pathetic it makes them look... maybe they don't care... I can't say that they don't know... because the spell check is right there...
I just ignore them... but it's hard because they are EVERYWHERE! LOL

1. English is not their first language- they tend to spell according to how they pronounced the word
2. Use of short-forms that some people dont understand
3. Some people rely too much on the computer to do their assignments, particularly essays- programs such as Microsoft Word are capable of correcting spelling mistakes automatically
4. Use of informal language-there are no english teachers here to check ur grammar n spelling, so they dont bother to write with proper punctuation/capital letters/complicated words..
5. Don't expect everyone to know english well, not all countries have english as a subject in the education, you are fortunate that u have the oppurtunity to learn english, imagine other countries such as those non-developed ones

I agree that some people don't try or care, and that can definitely be annoying, especially when you can't figure out what they mean.
Some of the errors are caused by the global nature of this forum. Not everyone speaks English as their first language, you know?
Also, not everyone had access to great schooling, so they've become successes in life in other ways. Their spelling may not be good, but they might still be bright and successful people.

People do not spell correctly because they haven't been taught to. Over the last two decades, our school systems have moved away from phonics - sounding out words - to learning through memorization. Not only has it produced a generation of people that do not know how to spell, but also cannot read a book. Another note, people do not know what the "check spelling" button is for...

Well, some spell wrongly while some use grammer wrongly, but tht's no reason to feel so uptight

well i dont know why they dont spell corectly, i just think they are rushes to answer another question, or are lazy and write "2" instead of too. or "cuz" instead of because!
