No, actually skype is not free. Its free for PC to PC calls, but not PC to landline.
One thing you could do, is the text to type things. Its supposed to be for people who are deaf, but me and my friends like to do it cause its kinda funny.

How it works is you type in the phone number of the person you want to call, then an operater calls the person and will say to them whatever you type and then type to you their reply.
Its kinda fun, but can be kinda awkward feeling. (In my opinion.)

yes there is. SKYPE u can use it for PC to land line phones or cell phones. unfortunatly it doesnt work vice versa. it is FREE though. and u can use it FOREVER
