Everyone who said to get it taken care of is right! Don' t mess with this. How can you take care of two babies for three weeks with a toothache?
Why remove a wisdom tooth?
http://www.members.aol.com/swf08302/wizdk.jpg shows one reason. This is what can happen if you leave a wisdom tooth in place when it is impacted. This picture shows a lower, but it can also happen with uppers. Maybe this is what's going on in your mouth. The red arrows on the x-ray show the grey area that has decayed due to the wisdom tooth being present under the gum. The tooth shown is the exact same tooth shown in the x-ray, but turned so you can see the cavity. Food and bacteria can get down there and you can't clean it out. Eventually, it makes a cavity in the tooth next to the wisdom tooth and makes it so you have to have BOTH teeth removed.

Can you find someone to come with you to the dentist and watch after your little ones why you have to procedure done? Also i know in some places they are willing to watch your little ones right in the office. I would ask. I know at one of my dentists they were nice enough to watch my daughter while I had a crown put on. Infections are nasty and they aren't a smart thing to be fooling around with. I was pregnant and got anasty infection in one of my teeth and of course everytime I got into the dentist cahir I would go into labor-ugh. I lost my tooth. It fell out. My infection came out, but that certaintly is no way to get rid of an infection. I do know of some natural things to help. Colloidal Silver is a natural antibiotic and let me tell you it works on tooth infection. My dentist was fooled when I took it instead of the heavy duty antibiotics he gave me. Cleared it right up so he could do the rootcanal. Also cold copresses. You really do need to see the dentist though. Infections can travel into other areas of your face and reak havic on your system. Try everything you can to get this taken care of before the 3 weeks. It is very important to not fool around with infections in your body no matter where they are. Please take care.

I think it would be very unwise to wait three weeks before seeing a dentist about this. Surely you can trust somebody to take care of your babies for a couple of hours. It might even be okay to take them with you to the dentist! When the immediate problems are sorted out I recommend you buy a sonicare electric toothbrush if you don't already have one. It's expensive but it's great at keeping your teeth and gums in good shape.

Delaying your necessary dental consult by another 3 weeks for your husband to return home from overseas trip is not a sensible decision. Consider yourself temporarily as a single mother, and I am sure you will come up with the right decision soon.

I wouldn't wait for your husband to get home. Get to a dentist now!! If an infection occurs, it can spread to all kinds of places. A dentist can check it out and hopefully perscribe an antibiotic to stop the problem for now Go see one now

SIMPLE ANSWER - GET YOUR TEETH PULLED BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING ELSE.
The amount of inconvenience you will face in trying to cope with two babies after having a simple dental procedure pales in comparison to the amount of pain, discomfort and risk of complications you will face if you delay it another three weeks.
In the meantime take Motrin or any other available anti-inflammatory and call your dentist in the morning.

Go to the dentist. You have insurance. Get a root canal. Do NOT pull your teeth. Geez. How redneck is that? You can do something for yourself without your husband. Come on. What is more important? Your health or waiting on a man to drive you to the dentist??????

Oil of cloves from your pharmacy will give short term relief, but seriously like the other comments, you NEED to see a Professional. Sounds like you have an increasing infection, which may become very serious. Many of the historical skeletons and mummies autopsied, died from tooth infections.
GO TO A HOSPITAL NOW!

Oragel for now may help. I'm afraid you need a root canal--that's what happened to me when my molar "went bad."
Also be careful with hot and cold food. Lukewarm may make it feel better.
