Would people say it's just a joke, science, or their hallucinating?

He already did.

Jesus showed us the face of God and went as far as to die for us. He could do it again and again, but there would still be people who wouldn't believe, people who would call it a joke, and people that would explain it away with science.

In response to what O said below me...
Great point, but your question asked if people would BELIEVE. Satan is the very essence of evil, but there's no doubt that he too believes in God and in his power.

Obviously, everyone would either go ecstatic, but there would be many who didnt believe. Anyone who doesn't believe now is going to have a hard time coping with the second coming, and some would definitely use even more absurd theories to explain it. As long as the earth exists, there will be people who refuse to believe. Unless, of course, God shoves it into their heads, and that would be against the approach He's used for years.

Interesting question, but one must realize the world as a whole is blind to the truth and in darkness. Examples are Pharoh of Egypt as the Bible says "hardened his heart", and Jesus said "if they will not believe the prophets they will not believe even one coming back from the dead. The only way to see is Christ Jesus. As He said "I Am the Way,the Truth, and the Life."

You have to be a LOT more specific for this to really be answerable. I see lots of faces every day - what would make one particular one "God's face"?
I do agree with your first respondent that if there were a god, there are things he could do that would be pretty danged convincing...but none of them ever happen.

Some will of course. But if god truly wanted people to know he was real, he could do so. I think watching 10 plagues hit some foreign country within a few weeks and then seeing a flood only kill their soldiers would do it. But it never happens does it?

Would you believe what the "Weekly World News" says? No because everything it says is false. People got to see it first hand in order to believe it.

I'm sure, look at Satan. He was in God's pressence, one of His brightest Angels and he chose to tempt man and never be in favor with the Lord again. If someone who walked with God and saw His face can do that I'm sure people wouldn't believe. Besides, think of Doubting Thomas who wouldn't simply believe that Jesus was resurected, he had to see it. He'd spent much of his life with Jesus and still didn't believe.

Unfortunately yes.

no amount of miracles, blessings or God showing himself is gonna convince non-believers

At some point they actually have to start having some faith.
