i suggest that you put her on the potty just before you lay her down for her nap, don't worry she wont make her self constipated. also she is 3 you should put regular underpants on her. i know this make your job harder to clean up. but kids don't like that feeling in their underpants. and as soon as she gets up from her nap put her on the potty. if she is not telling you when she has to #2 then you need to figure out about what time of day she goes, even as children most people go about the same time every day or other day.

With my daughter I just put her in a dress with no panties for a week or so and this helped a lot she would start to pee and realise right away and off to the toilet she would go. I didn't have any trouble with bowel movements at all but I also feel that getting rid of the pull ups would help. Have her help pick out some REALLY special underwear at the store. Maybe with Dora or Blue on them, whatever she LOVES. Remind her that she wants to keep them clean and reinforce how proud you are of her. I also think it is worth saying I've never seen a kid stay in diapers by choice much beyond 3 or so because they want to be more grown up. Don't worry too much. It will change when she's ready. Daycare can sometimes help seeing other kids her age using the toilet can encourage her to try.
Best of luck!

I have a grandson who just turned 3 and he refuses to use the potty or to wear real underpants. Are boys slower at potty training or what? My daughter is going nuts and I had 3 girls so I don't even have any experience with potty training a boy so I can't help her. My girls were so easy. Does she like being read to? When she is on the potty............read to her to keep her mind pre-occupied and also this will keep her on the potty a bit longer. Are u using a small potty chair or the big toilet? My kids didn't like the big one. They were much more relaxed on the small childs potty chair. Good luck to ya and have a wonderful day :)

Children are often afraid of seeing their bowels leave them. They do not understand that they are not a part of their body that they want to keep. It is scary for them and takes time for them to ajust too.
I would emplty the bowel into the potty and show her that this is where you put it after. Explain that its going to the #2 house to live with the others.
If you can get her to go in a potty chair then dump it in the potty this might also work too.

Your concern about constipation is an important one. Some children will withhold bowel movements because of their own feelings about it- and set themselves up for very difficult, painful bowel movements, which only makes them more afraid, and the cycle continues.
Please check with your child's doc about adding stool softeners or modifying her diet to prevent this.
Now if both of you are OK with the poop in pull ups plan, then fine, but eventually the pull ups have to go- and she won't be napping forever either.
For now, avoid the constipation so that when you say goodbye to pullups, she will not be able to withhold.
Best of luck to you!

that is the HARDEST part of potty training. It is very frustrating for parents that is FOR SURE.. She obviously isnt ready for that part of the potty training. Id just let her for now go in a diaper. After you take the poopy diaper off of her, take her and the diaper to the bathroom and dump it into the toilet and let her flush it. That has always worked for me.

the answer is simple NO MORE PULL UPS!!!!!
My little girl was a breeze to train but my son was another story so i asked the pediatrition and she asked me
"how did you wein him from the bottle?"
and i said i just quit giving him a bottle one day!
she said "well there you have it, any more questions?"
most parents worry too much about the mess that may occur without diapers or pull-ups but the truth is that children worry about it FAR more than we do!!
so give a shot and im sure you won't be cleaning very many messes if any good luck

you're saying Dorah's her well-liked? properly then arise with a "adventure" regarding a map and tell her she would have the ability to gown up like Dorah. The catch? She has to positioned on vast woman panties and not soil them, if she soils them as quickly as durring the adventure, it stops and he or she would have the ability to then be positioned decrease back in a diaper and he or she would have the ability to could watch Dorah. tell her that Dorah does not moist her vast woman underclothes whilst she is going exploring and that she rather could pass. possibly you are able to desire to get her a preparation potty and positioned Dorah stickers on it and say "whats up, why do no longer you pass take a seat on Dorah and communicate along with her." on an identical time as she's "conversing" with Dorah she'll at last "pass" And in case you are able to take her to a Dorah teach and verify you are able to fulfill "Dorah" and ask her if she wears vast-woman underclothes on her adventures, and should no longer your niece because of the fact she needs to be an explorer? the respond would be confident. additionally do the advantages device. If she makes use of the potty for one week and does not soil her vast woman underclothes she gets a definite Dorah toy. desire this helps!
