Yes and yes. Of course, it depends on what you call magic. To me, just about everything has some magic in it. It's a question of drawing it out and making use of it. We do not distort or suspend natural law; we work with Mother Nature to achieve our goals.

One easy example: scent is a very powerful memory link. We will remember the smell of something even when the rest of the data is gone. I can remember the "head shop incense" scent even though I have only the vaguest recollections of the Psychedelicatessan on the Lower East Side where I used to hang out back in the sixties. So if I wanted to create a healing ritual that involved focusing my attention on that period in my life (for example, to reconnect to the friends I knew then, or because some element of my own life at that time was important to bring back), I would be sure to use that incense. I would select a candle of a color symbolic to the purposes of my ritual, and the rest of the elements would be similarly chosen for their effects on my unconscious mind, as well as the focus of my conscious mind.

None of this is magic of the "put a boiled egg in a mason jar of urine and bury it under the full moon" sort of tripe. But it is quite effective. The mind is the most important magical tool any witch or wizard has. The rest are all purposed around focusing the mind on the goal. But sometimes the results cannot be causally connected to the ritual, and so an outside observer might conclude that it is "magic" in the sense of suspending natural law. The human mind IS A PART OF NATURE!!! What we can do with our minds is natural!

Not a wiccan personally, but know wiccans. It is a nature based religion if done the old ways. The wiccans I know have been wiccans for over 30 years. They don't do magic as I suspect you mean.

I'm not Wiccan, but I know a few people who are studying it. They did share with me a rather cool magical spell that works 100% of the time that I've tried it. It has to do with lost things -- i.e. keys and such. I don't want to prescribe it, because I don't know all the details. It has to do with "Little Bo Peep" if you want to do the research yourself. It works every time!

I've met Wiccans before and researched the religion myself. I've never actually seen any magic performed. I've seen them read spells and whatnot, but I think they are just dilluting themselves and wasting money on all of the supplies/books.

there are some of that kind around.. some...very few...and only those who truly know the evil behind the deception, are able to summon the evil powers to do what seems magic...Most all who are in that deception do not have any idea of who and what is behind it and the true nature of the evil it represents... they are deceived into thinking it is all fussy-wuzzy feel good stuff and that is all they will ever see.. unless they are chosen to go deeper into the true evil lurking under the fuzzies....
