Has anyone read the book "Conversations with God" by Neale Donald Walsch? Basically this guy claims to have written a bunch of questions to God down in a notebook and God responded to the questions through the pen. He claims God told him the Bible is false, There is no Satan or Hell and you can do absolutely anything you want and not worry about punishment in the afterlife. Any opinions? thanks

Below is a page taken from 'Communion With God by Neale Donald Walsch' :

Because you will not be judged, you cannot be condemned.

Because you will never be condemned, you will know at last that love is unconditional.

Because love is unconditional, there is no one and nothing that is superior in God's kingdom. There are no rankings, or hierarchies, there are not some who are loved more than others. Love is an experience total and complete. It is not possible to love a little, or to love a lot. Love is not quantifiable. One can love in different ways, but not in different degrees.

Always remember that.

Love is not quantifiable.

Yes, I love his books.. It makes perfect sense that God is love and not judgemental.. Isn't it wonderful that God Does not judge us? Yes, there are consequences in life, but they are not the same as punishments.. Punishments are imposed, consequences are natural outcome..

Hmmmm, that's a head scratcher. Well I suppose it depends on his intentions. Is it just for money? Power? I do however think there is a lot of false - ness in the bible, except the love. THE LOVE is clearly the message Jesus was trying to bring to light, but only those with open minds could accept Him. But no, I haven't heard of it, but will look for it now. And actually I don't believe in Hell, ( or don't want there to be one! ) I think earth is somewhat a hell, and when u don't do or understand God & His will you have to keep coming back. But life is what u make it. But yeah, that's ummm, contraversial. I do believe there is evil tho... funny how live is evil backwards huh? Faith in God is the only thing I have to count on ~ FOR REAL for real.

well i would believe the book, God is a loving God and there is nothing evil about god, so why would a loving forgiving God send someone to hell for ever. thats not love that is evil, that is something the devil would do. God is full of forgiviness whether we ask it or not because we are just humans, we dont feel good, we have daily problems and medical problems that make us act out of our norms plus perfection on earth doesnt exist so why would god punish us for that, i believe we are here For God to learn about us and he knows exactly why we are doing things we shouldnt be doing. Life is a learning experience and if we dont get it right this life time then next life we can try better on. GOd loves us all and does not want us to worry about what happens after we die. We love our kids no matter what and would never put them in a oven to burn them in hell for eternity so why in the world would God do that to us. God wouldnt. heaven is our home where we came from before we were born.

I don't know whether to believe that or not. It could be true, or it could just be that this guy is making a tongue-in-cheek point.

I know I have had conversations with Bast, but they have been more like monologues from Her, not a situation where I ask her a question and She gives me an answer, so to speak. I think the Gods will give you whatever information that they think you need to know at the time.

A blasphemia? No, God has a lot of humor. That's much better than the Pseudo-Christians. Humor is the opposite to fanaticism. And that one is an offense to God.

Even the Buddhists believes in consequence, its called Karma. the ironic thing is christians do whatever they want and assume there is no consequences, so why are they speaking out agianst this book when thier own beliefs come pretty close to the concept of do what thou wilt because jesus saved you from sin.

this is one of the best books i have ever read
and it felt more like God to me than anything else i have read
if you can read his second book " What God Wants " then you will see the contrast in writing styles which does leave me wondering if the first book was indeed inspired by God

i highly reccomend everyone read this book

It sounds like he was having a conversation with someone, but he really should be having a conversation with a shrink.
