Confused? Double standard?

Question

Soceity/religion preaches us to be good person every way.
But practically nice guy never win in real world.
so we r hypocrate as reality is diffrent from what i was taught(by my parents/soceity/supporting system)?

Joseph was a good guy. He was his father's favorite child. His brothers despised him, though because they were jealous. They wanted to kill him, but decided to sell him instead. So, Joseph became a slave when he was 17. He worked hard as a slave and because of this and his trustworthiness, he was eventually put in charge of the authority's household. The wife of the authority tried to get Joseph to sleep with her. He would not, and she lied and told her husband that he had tried to seduce her. Joseph was thrown into prison. While he was there, he maintained his standards of being the best he could and learned to be humble. He interpreted the dreams of his fellow inmates who had worked for the Pharoah. Later, after one of these prisoners had been absolved of his crimes, the Pharoah himself had dreams he could not understand. The prisoner remembered Joseph. Joseph interpreted the Pharoah's dreams and was not only released from prison, but was made a vizier to the Pharoah, given supreme authority, and an Egyptian wife. He led the people through feast and famine, and made the Pharoah wealthy even during the famine. Consequently, Joseph's loved ones did not starve and he was reunited with them. For 13 years, Joseph had nothing, but he did not give up.

The moral is that great sacrifice leads to great reward. Keep up your standards and eventually it will pay off for you and for those you love.
