I asked question like that almost amonth ago... most people
that responded said Yes and some went into more detail.
My question was Perogies are My favourite food. Are they your
favourite food?
I got only 1 no amongst alot of Yes's. One said Yummy!!!
Perogies are Great... My Homemade Ones Are Great. A friend
of My Mom's said that these are good enough to die for! I take that as a compliment. Isn't it one? She had perogies before
Perogies(Peddaha) is a food that tops all other foods as far as I'm concerned don't you agree? I prefer the saukeraut type best.
Other one is cottage cheese and potatoes,
Perogie dough flour, 2 tsp baking powder, a little oil and water

PEROGI

Dough:

15 3/4 oz. (3 1/2 cups) all-purpose flour; more for dusting
3 large eggs
2 tbs. sour cream
1 c. water; more as needed
Butter or vegetable oil
Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

In a large bowl, combine the flour, eggs, sour cream, and 1/2 cup of water. Stir, beating the eggs as you mix. Gradually add the rest of the water, stirring until the mixture begins to come together. Turn the dough onto a well-floured surface. Knead gently with your fingertips, lifting the dough off the counter and dropping it down (the dropping technique is key for delicate and pliable dough), taking care not to overwork it. Knead until the ingredients are blended and the dough is smooth on the outside and slightly sticky when poked, 2 to 5 min. Gather in a ball, wrap in plastic, and let rest for at least 20 min. while you make the filling (see below). While you fill the pierogis, put 5 qt. water on to boil. Drop the perogis in batches into the boiling water, stirring occasionally. When they float to the top, cook for another 2 to 4 min.; bite into one to check that there's no chalky line. Drain in a colander or fish them out with a spider and put them in a bowl. Sauté as described below or simply a dollop of butter and salt and pepper; jostle the bowl to toss.

Love them. I never has them homemade. I buy Mrs. T's the frozen ones. The four cheese is my favorite. Publix supermarket always has a large variety. My favorite dish is kielbasi, mac & cheese with perogies. I like my perogies boiled with butter on top. My grandchildren like them fried.

I love pierogies, as well. If you don't have time to make them from scratch here are some recipe ideas:

http://www.pierogies.com/retail/recipes.asp

and one of my favorites:

Pierogie Pasta Salad

Ingredients:
•2 boxes Mrs. T. Pierogies, Potato Cheddar
•1 cup grape tomatoes
•1 bottle Kraft Zesty Italian Dressing
•1 tsp. crushed garlic
•1 Tbsp. salad supreme
•1 Tbsp. basil
•1 cup broccoli florets
•1 can black olives
•1 Cracker Barrel Bar Cheese, X-Sharp White, cut in pieces

Cook pierogies according to package directions. In a bowl, whisk together Kraft Italian, garlic, and salad supreme. Put pierogies, tomatoes, broccoli, olives and cheese in a bowl and toss. Pour dressing over salad, then sprinkle with basil. A great cool meal on a warm night. Serve with Garlic Bread.
