I'm trying to research criminal procedings and I am having a hard time locating resources online that will tell me what the various statutes of limiations on different crimes (whether they are misdemeanors or felonies) is as it relates to the amount of time that prosecutors have to file charges against someone.

Try the NYS Criminal Procedure Law... Section 30.30 spells it out in plain English... Good Luck..

The most l ever heard of is 7years,That's for stuff like beating some one to doing a B&E,The only charge that that there is no Limitation on is Murder,Robbie was only a 7year wait to but as of now l am not to sure,Go to the book store and ask for a book on the Statutes af Limitation and they should be able to tell you were to get a book,Or ask a Lawyer for they know all that stuff Hope l was helpful..Go look for the law books that tell you this stuff..l had a book years ago but have miss placed it

you can go to google or yahooligans or even yahoo and type in different crimes in NY and you will get some answers for that
