Sorry topgun, top speed of a nighthawk isn't anywhere close to that. He's talking the F22.

While many fighters are capable of traveling at these speeds, it is extremely rare that they actually do. Over the United States it is illegal to go faster than the speed of sound. The same is true for many other countries in the world. Going supersonic does not provide a tactical advantages except for escape maneuvers. Most "dogfights" these days take place well out of visual range.
