Hello my dear brother. I would like to first of all appreciate you from the bottom of my heart for being a fantastic example to so many people. I really have to say you have done a wonderful job so far. I can imagine how you feel, but I would like to really encourage you and tell you that everybody is unique. Please never ever compare yourself with others. I did the same in the past, but it just brought me dissapointment and jealousy, which are definitely not from the nature of God (our loving Heavenly Father), but the devil. This will hinder our growth let alone encourage us.
Please try to think the positive side of life. God gave us this life, so that we can honour Him back by trying to see the positive side of life and appreciating it. Please consider it, as a challenge given to you by God to come out of these circimstances. We are created by God to be His children like as a family. Please see this life as a temporary stay that God has given us where we can see it as a gift from Him and to seek and enjoy the good things He has in store for us, like the peace, joy, goodness, kindness etc., by acquiring His character by acknowledging His son Jesus Christ, and that He did died to suffer for our sins on our behalf. There is no need for us to suffer any more, for He Himself bore our sufferings and pain and depression. He has already done that for us. So, please try to understand the Love of God. He said in His holy word, "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." Matthew 11:28.
And He also said,"If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink." John 7:37.
"whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life." John 4:14.
I ALSO WOULD LIKE TO ENCOURAGE YOU TO PLEASE GO THROUGH THE WONDERFUL LIFE OF A YOUNG GIRL LIKE YOU, WHO WAS PHYSICALLY CHALLENGED AS YOU ARE, MAY BE MORE WORSE THAN YOU, AND HOW SHE TURNED THE THINGS AROUND TO BE ONE OF THE MOST SUCCESSFUL. HER NAME IS JONI EARECKSON. YOU CAN FIND ABOUT HER WONDERFUL STORY AT www.joniandfriends.org. I WISH YOU ALL THE BEST MY DEAR BROTHER AND GOD BLESS YOU ABUNDANTLY.

You can achieve great things if you just believe in yourself. You have the power to make a chance and turn your misfourtunes around, even to serve and help others.
Please don't feel inferior to anyone. Everyone is equal, when everything balences out. So you had Polio? Big deal, I mean you survived it right? Your a survivor, not a victim!
I'm guessing since this is in the religion and spiritual section you are looking for a deeper meaning to your life? I will pray for you, but try and help yourself.
I also suffer from an inferiority complex, depression and procrastination, but its not the end of the world. I mean you have positive things in your life as well. Everyone does, sometimes their just clouded out by gloom.
I think you should see a psychristist or at least take some anti-depressants. Don't worry, be happy. Everything will be alright in the end, I promise!

Please don't say you have no hope darling, of course you have hope, you are alive. Altho I see what u are saying, you must try, try your best in all u do, there is only one like you. I'd like to write this passage I found here on Y!A:
The most destructive habit...worry.The greatest joy..giving. The greatest loss..loss of self respect. The most satisfying work..helping others. The ugliest personality trait..selfishness. The most endangered species..dedicated leaders. Our greatest natural resource..our youth. The greatest "shot in the arm"..encouragement. The greatest problem to overcome..fear. The most dangerous pariah..a gossiper. The world's most incredible computer..the brain. The worst thing to be without..HOPE. The most worthless emotion..self-pity. The most beautiful attire..a smile. The most prized possession..integrity. The most contagious spirit..enthusiasm. The deadliest weapon..the tongue. The 2 most powerfilled words.."I can". The greatest asset.. wisdom. The most effective sleeping pill..peace of mind. The most crippling failured disease..excuses.The most powerful force in life..LOVE:o]
Now for real help, that was just for your own inspiration. Do what u can. Maybe you can be a teacher or something once u finish school. Come out and ask your sister what u can do to help and lessen the burden. Not talking about it will just make it manifest, and then grows the hurt & contempt. And one more positive note:
"You are the breathing survivor of spiritual perfection." - artakiane.com(~actually a great website if you want to go check out some amazing art work, she will open your eyes). Sorry so long, God bless.

All negative thoughts, emotions and destructive or irrational behaviour come from a specific part of our minds.
This is called The Reactive Mind. This mind contains "recordings" of past events or incidents containing pain or painful emotion, during moments of less analytical awareness or consciousness, including total unconsciousness.
These past recordings have not been analysed by us, and can be triggered by present time events or environments, when triggered in this way they have force and command over our analytical thought and action at that moment. Causing unwanted reactive thoughts, fears , worries , attitudes and actions, which
are unwanted but not under our control.
To really resolve this it is necessary to contact and clear these recordings in our Reactive Mind. Once this is done they can no longer have this effect on us. And we also recover our potential for positive create and optimum living.
How this is done is the technology of Dianetics, which was the result a exact research into exactly what was causing the very thing you describe in you question.
I recommend that you get a copy of the book " Dianetics The Modern Science of Mental Health" by L Ron Hubbard and read it. You can also contact the website www.dienetics.org which will give you the worldwide locations of those practicing Dianetic therapy. It is definitely very active in Malaysia, and was introduced and used to help the "Sunami" survivors in that area with great success.

i think you hit the nail on the head in your question
you do sound very depressed and i wonder if you have approached a doctor on this
i am sure though that in your depressed state you see yourself more as a burden than you really are
i am sure your sister and her family wish to help you
but in the long run when you get better mentally and more independant , perhaps you can see if there is sheltered housing in your area that help people find independance in living alone with a little care
please see about the depression first and foremost and i am sure everything else will fall into place once that is dealt with
much love to you xx

well you have to look on the postive side of life. you can ask for help to get through college. some colleges have disabilites to help you with tutoring and you can do it. I procrastinate too but I try to do it. I am sure if you finished school with help your self esteem might improve and you won't be sad much and you might find that special lady too cause you can make things happen if you put you try really hard. So look to see if they got disabliites and see if they can help you with your studies. After that things will hopefuly fall into place.

Atleast you have a home. Think of thousands of people who have no home, no legs, no eyes or no hands. God gave you a nice heart, good eyes to see lovely hands , Do not think yiou are the only one who is suffering like this. Think of other people who are helpless. Try to think of a way to do something to the society. You can do it. You may be have many talents ., singing, painting or a good heart to do some social service to the people like you. You can comfort others. God gave us this life to live not to sit and worry. You can be happy simply by putting your worries and everything aside and be a helpful person. Best of luck.

Look how far in life you have gotten, be proud of yourself, also seek a doctor to get you on medication for the depression, that can help a lot, i am on medication for it and will be for the rest of my life and depression can be very painfull to feel, i know. you sound like you have accomplished a lot and dont worry how much your friends have done, its not about them its about you and you accomplished what you have done with polio but did they? You have already accomplished more then anyone could have ever done from having polio. good luck and god bless
