Try getting some hair product. Look for hair straightener or relaxer. I understand it might be embarresing to purchase product because most are meant for girls. But, if you really want to loose the flicking then you should purchase some. I use After Party by Bed Head. It's in a cylindrical pink bottle that are in most super markets and drug stores.

Clynol sleek...frizz free shine serum. Works a great. application instructions; dispense a few drops into the palms and glide through pre-shampooed mid lengths and ends. can also be used sparingly on dry hair. do not rinse. Their other products are fab as well

Try grooming you hair with a dryer sheet (you know, the sheets that contain fabric softener that you put in the dryer). This works surprisingly well for many people, AND you can carry one in your purse for touch-ups!

Even if you use conditioner, you might have static. It depends on how dry it is outside or what clothes you're wearing. I always use light moose (?) and that helps for the day. Or light hairspray.

go for japanese thermal straightening. it lasts about a year and you never need to wake up early for blow drys anymore. mind you, it costs an arm and a leg though.
