Wouldnt that mean that the end of the world is near?
Well if that is the sole purpose of the Mahdi (though my academia says otherwise) then yes you can say Ahmedjinad is the Mahdi.

I think that he thinks he might be the 12 Imam / Mahdi. Because in a speech he boasted about the aura around him when he talked about his nuclear ambitions. And how other national leaders were so attentive to him.
That is a spiritual aura. And because of the connection with nuclear, a destructive spiritual aura.
