Clearly, some people NEED to use this form of communication while driving. Police, delivery people, salesmen, etc.

How about this idea? In order to be able to use your cell phone while driving, you are required to take a two or three day course, including hands-on skills, then receive an extra notation on your driver's license, and perhaps a sticker for the window of your car. Also, insurance rates go up. Anyone who wants to talk on the cellphone would be required to cough up the money to take it. Would also be a new industry, much like the defensive driving industry.

There is nothing that irritates me so much as to see some airbrain on the phone, driving ten miles under the speed limit in the left hand highway lane.

I hate cell phone drivers! Talking on the phone should be against the law everywhere! Pull over to talk. I was hit by a cell phone driver. Ooops I didn`t see you I was talking on the phone. I wanted to take that phone off of his belt and shove it down his stupid throat!

Most people cannot drive well enough without the cell phones, and a car or SUV are very dangerous things. No one ever multitasks as well as they think they do, so I honestly believe that you shouldn't be allowed to make phone calls while driving. But with everyone having the need to be in touch at all time more recently, the youngest drivers on the roads already have a cell phone before they can drive. It's a shame. Driving, alone, used to be enough for most people.

. Maybe you should become a traffic cop. It is a law here. I personally have hands free. It was standard on my new car. I think the coarse your talking about is the one you take before you get your license. Unfortunately no Body follows these rule of the road after they are licensed. and people moan when they need to retest after so many years on the road. Have you noticed they have taken the cigarette lighter out of most new cars too. Ever see a guy get into an accident trying to fumble with the lighter or find his smokes? I did. The person he killed didn't. People need to drive more responsibly no matter what it is they are doing. Do you want people to put their kids in the trunk because they might dis track them while driving too. I agree with the cell phone hands free, pull over or get a ticket
But don't get me started on all the other things driver get distracted over. there are other laws such as move over and stop for an emergency vehicle or. head lights must be on if your using you windshield wipers. And Left lane for passing or faster traffic. Driving too slow . See you got me started

99.8% or more of the morons that currently talk on cell phones while driving would not have had a CB radio in thier car because it was too difficult for them to operate. Now, without realizing it, they are doing what they previously deemed too difficult. And because they are not thinking, they crash..........

Police don't need cell phones, they have radios. Which they have learned to use. Also the Fire dept, Ambulance, and other emergency sevices. The radios tend to work better as well.

People are VERY inattentive to thier surroundings when on a phone of any type.

A question for you: Why in the world would you want to make it easier for some to practice such stupidity?
