This article sort of puts you off lazer treatment but then again my friend's mum had it done and her's was ok, presonally i would just wax just in case anything did go wrong, it really isn't that much of a hassle and plus it's not like you need to wax in the winter. Hope this helps

It does depend on wot laser it is but ther is no treatment that can permanently remove hairs only reduce them some laser treatment can leave scarring and with everything it will have its side effects. If she does chose to have the treatment tell her 2 research it thouroughly. I am a beauty therapyistand i am a qualified IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) therapist which is very similar 2 laser but is said to be less painfull and more effective. But only permanently reduces the hair growth by up to 95% but it varies from person to person on how effective the treatment is some people find it works really well others not so well. It is something u need 2 carefully consider and research well!!

I saw a programme about it, never had it done though, some half famous woman had it done, but she had to go about 4 times for it all to be removed, if she gets a decent person nothing will go wrong, but it's a laser so obviously it can be dangerous.

I agree with the person above, get her a razor or waxing kit.

if they are very hairy I wouldn't recommend shaving as the hair will grow thicker and quicker.
My cousin has the same problem and after shaving she has a rash and lots of black dots which are the hair under her skin.

If you want something cheaper you can use a depilator that pulls out the hair from the root and it takes about a month for them to grow back.

The laser shouldn't have side effects but if you want to be sure ask a doctor.

Hope your doughter will have silky, hair free legs ;-)

Laser treatments can scar. If she is young, do not do this. Take her in and get a professional wax job. That will make her smooth and keep her that way for a good long time.

well, i don't think it's a very good idea for three reasons.
1) it's quite pricy
2) it's only natural for hair to grow on your legs. To get it "premanantly" removed just wouldn't be natural
3) there's a good alternative to getting it removed permanantly or shaving; waxing. Waxing is easier and it doesn't come back as fast if you shave

A friend of mine got laser hair removal done for underarm hair.

It took a number of visits over several months, but did work very well.

Unfortunately, they cannot guarantee it'll be permanent if your hormonal levels change due to illness etc.

It also won't work very well on blonde or light coloured hairs.

Tell her to try an epilator, she'll have hairfree legs for up to 4 weeks.
I don't know about laser treatment but I've heard that it can leave scars.

If she waxes her hair will start to thin out eventually which is way more cheaper even though it is a long winded process
