You probably have what is a resistant strain of staph infection. You may even be getting it in your lungs which is dangerous. Can become staph pneumonia. You need to go to the doctor if you have trouble breathing, green or bloody mucous, and fever, any of these symptoms. To treat the boils, you have to contain the drainage. Lysol everything, bleach the sheets, cover the boils until they heal, wash your hands every time you change the bandages or come into contact with the drainage, and buy some Hibiclens at the pharmacy to bathe with and clean the wounds with. Also, use some type of antibacterial hand soap or the hibiclens when you wash your hands. If you can get it, you need some gentamycin ointment for the wounds and a different antibiotic. Hope you can get this resolved. Very contagious and you can keep getting it if you aren't meticulous with getting rid of the bandages and keeping it covered , etc.

Sounds like you need a doctor ASAP that will treat your condition very aggressively. If it's as bad as you say it is, I'd think you would be given an injection followed by 7 or more days of oral medicaton. Please, please take the antibiotic for the entire time period specified!!! If you don't there's a chance you will end up with a staph that is resistent to that antibiotic. Staph is highly contagious and can spread throughout your body if not treated with the proper antibiotic. Also, you should be very careful about having good hygiene. Wash your hand frequently and keep the infected areas covered so that any weeping from them doesn't spread.

Staph infections are very serious and are nothing to play with. If the antibiotics did not get rid of it (levaquin) then you need to return to your primary care physician and explain. It may be MRSA which is a type of staph that is resistant to alot of antibiotics. I would make an appointment very soon. Staph can get into you blood stream and cause sepsis. This is an infection in your blood. When this happens in a matter of weeks it begins to shut down the systems in your body. Please have it checked.

Say to hell with your previous doctor and go to a new one, one that is on your insurance plan. Most infections of the skin are staph infections, but proper antibiotics can clear them up. You need proper treatment from a doctor that gives a damn.

I have a skin disorder that causes cysts that can get infected the same way. Did he put you on antibiotics? they usually shrink my cysts within 2 days. Try a heated compress.. make one with a sock and rice, and microwave it.The heat will drawl the infection and pus out...dont pick-it makes it worse.good luck
