They are afraid of sounding like idiots.
People have been preaching about the end being just around the corner for thousands of years. It is the only time proven way to be sure that you are wrong and make yourself look like a fool.

Preachers on TV are there to make money off of the masses. They will pretty much tell you whatever they think you want to hear so that you will send them money and tune in next week to do it all over again.
Anyone who wants to hear the word of God should go to a local church. Many local churches do preach out of the book of Revelation.
Granted, there are some feel good and come back next week churches out there as well, but that's not a true church the way Christ wants it.

Hal Lindsey, The Dr on The King is Coming Show, Chuck Smith, Charles Capps, Jack Van Impe, Marilyn Hickey, Tim La Haye, et al.

It's a highly subjective book. Even the "accepted" interpretation has many different viewpoints and changes of detail from person to person. It's not going to make a whit of sense to people who haven't studied either theology or symbolism, and preachers on TV are looking at reaching people who aren't normally in church. Better, I think, to stick to the stuff that isn't quite as out there.

Yes, it's very true (and sad) that many preachers these latter days ignore Revelation as well as the very prophetic books of Daniel,Joel and Ezekiel. They want to keep a certain comfort level in their churches for fear of losing a sizable part of their congregation by speaking these truths of the Bible.

Many preachers won't preach Revelation because they want to tickle your ears with messages like prosperity, God is love, its ok to do this and that, etc. They want to keep rolling in the dough, you see. Thank God for my pastor and others like him who will preach Revelation and fire and brimstone.
God IS love, but he is also a God of wrath when you disobey Him.
Like a loving father who disciplines his children to keep them in check....Thats my God.
Revelation is an awesome book. Fasting and praying will help someone understand it.

As one of the other people pointed out, it isn't popular. I hate to say it, but the first rule of any business is "Income exceeds expenditure". It doesn't matter if your a church or a TV evangelist, the same rule applies. Many churches and TV evangelists go out of business because they fail to follow that simple rule. If you had a choice between income exceeding expenditure or expenditure exceeding income, what would you choose?

Revelation is partly symbolic, and most of them do not understand it. (God intended it that way) Till end times. But it is understood now!
Those preachers you watch on TV are all money hungry and are nothing more than sales people selling their ideas in book or tapes and Cd's.

It's ineffective. It only turns people off. Remember people have been predicting the end times for thousands of years and year after year the end times have not been any closer even though many have interpreted the signs to be happening. Scare tactics and nay saying doesn't work anymore.

Because preachers on television want to make money. If they were out there telling you that the world was going to end tomorrow, you'd probably be a lot less likely to send money to their "ministry," wouldn't you?
