I was under a lot of pressure to make a decision, now I believe I can't afford this car. I've only had it one day, I have the dealer's plate, and have to bring it back Monday. I signed ALL the papers, and gave a check for $750. which they haven't cashed.

All the dealer wants to do is make a sale so if all of the others answers on returning the car fail suggest to the dealer that you want to buy a car but that one was too much money so suggest a cheaper model. In the long run you may end up with a better car, cheaper on gas and better for your pocket book. You didn't state what vehicle you purchased. If it was a Toyota they have a new car called the Yaris which sells for around $17 thousand Canadian so I would expect it to be maybe $14, 500 in the US or even cheaper. Even GM has a new small car which looks quite easy on the gas and cheap to buy, Chrysler also has a new replacement for the Neon and Ford of course has the Focus which is selling quite well. Maybe you do need a car but not an expensive one, look at what the dealer has in your price range.

Sorry, the State of NH states that there is no right of refusal. But you should be on a temp plate not a dealer plate. If you have to sign more contracts refuse to do so. They may try to take your deposit also. The only other way you might be able to get out of it is if they did not give you all of your copies of the contracts.

Go right ahead they will tell you they already sold your trade in car. Look over the lot for the old car if you traded in one first. Your argument is perfect they cannot make the car less expensive. But did you look good driving it around? If not you really did need a different car. You have to be able to pay for it and feel good about it and most important look good in it! Almost any new car costs 400 a month plus insurance

3 day cooling off period does NOT apply to cars bought at the dealership. The only way it would apply is if someone sold you the car over the phone or door to door. You are at the mercy of the dealer.

No the 72 hour rule only applies if the dealer came to your door and solicted you. Since I assume you went there and started the proccess you own the car.

Read Your Contract; Don't wait til tell last minute or day, you should have 72 hours with good reason and if you can not afford that is good reason. Do Not wait until Monday to take care of this.

I am guessing you can. I am not from USA but in Australia when we buy a car we have like a 14 day cooling off period where you can bring it back and get reimbursed a percentage of it. You will not get all your money back though.

my guess would be you are out of luck since you signed the papers, the dealer may take it back but you will lose money on it. It is worth a shot but do it as quick as you can.

Most states have a law about contracts, check the library in your city to see about your state. You should be able to cancel in writing within three days.

If the contract has been accepted by the bank, you are out of luck.
If you are still riding on the dealers tag, they probably haven't submitted the signed papers yet. CALL THEM IMMEDIATELY!
