Jesus did not appoint the laity to preach the Word. He appointed the 11 disciples only (Matthew 28:16-20).
By what authority do you preach the Word when your understanding of the Word is imperfect (Matthew 7:18)?

Thessalonians and Corinthians were written by Paul, not Jesus.
Paul was the first of the self-appointed preachers, and had reason to justify his arrogance.

For the rest who claim authority, you cite no quote from Jesus that was not directed to the appointed disciples.
You would put words into the mouth of Jesus, and thus invent scripture. This does not demonstrate a perfect understanding of the Word. It eviscerates the Word you were given by Jesus, to make the narrow way broad enough for you to fit.

"since the original diciples never made it to all nations (eg america, canada) it is obvious the we 2day must complete this"
The preaching ended with the disciples. Teaching by example is what today's Christians are called upon to do (Matthew 5:16-19).

Matthew 28:19-20 - "Go ye therefore and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen." Spoken to the disciples (Matthew 28:16). "teach all nations" refers back to Matthew 24:14.

And Jesus approached and spoke to them, saying: “All authority has been given me in heaven and on the earth. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded YOU" Matt 28: 19,20
What did Jesus say? "Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations" And then what? " teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded YOU"
What did He tell the Disciples to do? Preach the Truth and make disciples, teach them to do the very same thing.
I agree with you, He did not, Jesus did not appoint the laity to preach the Word, for the simple reason, they do not agree with each other, it would have to be a world wide organization " of people of all the nations" that regardless where they are on the earth, they believe the same thing, they teach the same thing.
This would fulfill the scripture found at 1 Cor. 1:10 which says: "Now I exhort YOU, brothers, through the name of our Lord Jesus Christ that YOU should all speak in agreement, and that there should not be divisions among YOU, but that YOU may be fitly united in the same mind and in the same line of thought."
There is a World Wide Organization doing this, look for it and find it.

It is taught throughout the whole new testament.
1 Thessalonians 1:6 "You also became imitators of us and of the Lord, having received the word in much tribulation with the joy of the Holy Spirit, 7 so that you became an example to all the believers in Macedonia and in Achaia. 8 For the word of the Lord has sounded forth from you, not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but also in every place your faith toward God has gone forth, so that we have no need to say anything. "
What is your point? Do you think that all preaching of the Word should have stopped when the disciples died off?
1 Cor 4:31 "For you can all prophesy one by one, so that all may learn and all may be exhorted;"

by that logic, who appointed the clergy to preach. they are not the 11 disciples any more than the lay ppl are.
Matthew 24:14
KJV: And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.
since the original diciples never made it to all nations (eg america, canada) it is obvious the we 2day must complete this.
no-one has perfect understanding of the word of God, save God Himself.
many ppl in the Bible preached the word who were not appointed by Jesus in person - Silus, John Mark, Timothy, etc,
as Christians it is our duty to spread the word.
Romans 10:14
13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?
15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!
16 But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report?
17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
who r u 2 question wot we do?
r u even saved?

I Pastored a Church for many years and not one time did I force anyone to enter into the Church.
Those that came did so to be taught the Word of God.
I'm qualified due to many years of study and several degrees.
I have been examined by a body of peers and found to be worthy of the position of Pastor.
But then I never beat people over the head with scripture.
My calling, if you will, was to share the Word of God with those that came. Not to judge them and coerce them into something that they truly didn't believe in.

The Bible states that we as Children of God, Should pass Gods word on to other. But there are many false teachers out there that have been taught incorrectly By other false teachers. But the word of God still stands strong as ever, and that word is to share God's word with other.

if you will actually study your Bible, you will notice that Jesus appointed all Christians to "preach".
i preach by the authority of the living Son of the living God Almighty.

When God places a message on my heart and tells me to share, I share it.
Do you think God is sleeping now? Do you think we are in a time like the 400 years before Christ where God doesn't speak us?
God still speaks. God speaks to us through His Word and through our daily lives and God asks us to share what we have learned.
Perhaps God hasn't asked YOU to speak and you are feeling envy? Love the gifts God has given to you.

There's nothing like the pot calling the kettle black.
Religion has been the reason for most wars, tragedies and sufferings of humanity just because every one wishes the other human being to follow his God.
