Legally, probably booze and hydrocodone. Illegally, meth. We just had one Dr run out of town for allegedly dispensing pain drug scripts in the parking lot. Some "stone" alkies were among his best patients; I bet they miss him.

opiates, like heroin and more recently drugs like oxycontin and vicoden. Opiates have been around since before Christ and are the hardest of ALL drugs to get clean from because they are so addictive and change the brains functions over time.

Looks like alcohol is still number one followed by crack/cocaine. I would have thought meth was up there. Guess it's more of a local problem here on the left coast.

I don't know nationwide but here in Alaska it's alcohol. Abuse of all kinds of prescription meds is catching up though, especially with older people.

If not alcohol, I would say nerve pills, or pain pills, at least here, that seems to be the 3 most used.
