You have pu too many eggs in one basket. 1.There is no reason why Haj pilgrims should be subsidised by the Govt. It is not necessary also to subsidise Amarnath yatras. Tax payers money should not be spent for specific beneficiaries. 2. Godhra etc are given prominence and these issues continue to dominate the media for years. The sikh issue of 1984 is totally out of the picture just like the Kashmiri Pandits. However, the issue is not that easy to answer. All said and done, the vote bank politics plays an important part in all these matters.

I know several Sufis myself and all of them respect Muhammad.
As far as secular Islam - well, of course it exists. I live in Istanbul and Islam here has a very secular character too. Most people here abhor terrorism as much as you presumably do.
However, there is space in this world for all of us. I know Pakistani people both religious and secular. Neither group is 'rubbish' - every Pakistani I have met is a decent person.
I have also met Indian Muslims both religious and secular and like them too.
It's a beautiful world, and diversity makes it great. I wish you could recognise that.
