My son is 13 and our next door neighbor is 27. She has been sitting for us for years and we really like her. I came home early to find them in the bathroom with her giving him a bath. He was standing in the tub with her kneeling by the side. She said he wasn't feeling good and was just helping him with his bath. Is there something going on or am I wrong to think that maybe something is?What should I do?

i think that you need to get rid of this baby sitter and fast. talk to your son, ask him some basic questions to find out what is going on. this may not have been the first time that something like this has gone on. i my self have a 13 year old son, but he is very mature and responsible, so i don't feel that i need to have a sitter for him for the short time he is left alone. so, may i ask why you feel your 13 year old needs a sitter? also after speaking with your son if he tells other things that have happened between him and this sitter i would strongly advise you contact the police and maybe even child protective, because this lady may have a problem, and may need some counseling.also if this kind of thing has been going on your son is going to need some counseling as well.

UH, there is definately something very disturbing. The only way I could understand this would be if he was greatly ill running a high fever, and vomited all over himself. And she had his "private area" covered by a towel or something. Then it COULD be HALF reasonable. But even so, he is old enough to bathe himself, sick or not. He is 13, not 3!!
Maybe you should talk to your son about it. That would be my first thing to try. Ask him questions about the sitter. Ask him why she was bathing him. Ask him if he is uncomfortable around her. Things like that.
Considering we all don't know all the circumstance, we can't give you proper judgement. I, myself, would be VERY SUSPICIOUS by what you have just said so far. To me it sounds like she has crossed the line.
However, if he really was sick at the time, and running a high temperature, it would make sense. High fevers can cause seizures, and a sick person should never bathe unsupervised because they COULD drown. Maybe she is telling the truth, but somehow I DOUBT IT!!!

Blatantly something going on, you need to sit down & have a serious chat with your son.

Why does a 13 year old need a baby sitter anyway? Surely he's big enoughto look after himself now. He certainly doesn't need help in the bath, feeling ill or not, very strange situation.

I'd find another baby sitter PDQ if I was you.

First off, ask your son. He's 13 years old so if there is a situation where he is uncomfortable then he should be able to tell you. Being that you are uncomfortable with her now.... get another sitter. If you feel something is wrong, then just get another sitter. If your son says something happened, call the cops. And prosecute.

Something IS wrong. Thirteen y/o boys DO NOT need help from a 27 y/o lady to take a bath!!! Your neighbor is a pervert, your son has been molested, it's up to you to do something about it!

Your next door neighbor does not need to be babysitting for you anymore. And in fact you really should report it to the police unless you know for sure that nothing really is going on. Even if nothing is going on, your 27 year old babysitter used incredibly poor judgement and should never step foot in your house again.

Something is very wrong with this situation. Get this woman away from your son. You need to sit down with your son and find out what's going on. Get the authorities involved as well.

Seriously, this is not normal or right. Don't be naive, call the police. Get this woman off the streets before she molests another kid. Have your son see a therapist, if she has been babysitting for you for years, she has probably been molesting your son the whole time.

I don't know did you like seeing your 27 y/o neighbor with your 13 y/o?

He's a big boy now he give himself his own bath. Don't be naive. There's something going on. She was playing "hide the weasel" with him. It's wrong and you should confront her about it.
