Ok, I am 13 and I just cannot seem to be myself. I try but I still am the person I am at school. I always try to make things great, but they aren't as good as I want. Please Help!

More details:
Okay so I want to do outgoing things(like try to do dance para para at the school talent show or sing a solo in chorus) but I never do.

Believe it or not - this sort of mental upheaval is quite usual for a teenager.
For the person who said these are the best years of your life - either you had charmed teenage years or your memory is faulty!
I would not go back to being 13 and go through all that again if you paid me!
As to who you are - well "who" you are is still being formed - you are the person you are at school as well as the person inside.
People are always slightly different when they interact with other people. Think about the people close to you. I bet they act differently depending on who they are with. Its not being false - its more presenting different aspects of yourself to make yourself or other people feel more comfortable.
Just remember - you only have a few years of this to cope with. I know that sounds daunting now, but think how many years you have in front of you.
Put things in perspective the next time something gets you down - ask yourself "Will this matter in 5 years time? Ten years?"
Hang in there and take each day as it comes - try not to stress too much.

Hmmm, I just wonder if you are a highly sensitive person. They feel very deeply and can be called shy or reserved. There are many websites out there to read up on the highly sensitive person. I am a highly sensitive person and would get told that I was too emotional or had some sort of disorder. God made me a senstive person for a reason and it is not a disorder. One just has to learn about oneself and learn to manage in a world like this.

You are at that age, becoming a young adolescent. It is a hard age, and hormones are raging, believe me you are not alone. Do you have a really good friend that you can speak to in confidence? Are you close to your mother or father, tell them how you feel and maybe there is something that they can say or do to help the way you feel. If not try to speak to a counselor at school.

I'm 12 and feel the same. I try to be one person, but that's really hard to do and I always make plans and sometimes never do follow them. There's nothing wrong with you and if you really think there is then a counslor can help

I think you will be just fine. The teen years are so very confusing. Not a child, not an adult; back and forth between the two realms.
Try not to overanalyze yourself and keeping a journal may be quite helpful.

OMG you are so normal....keep asking questions and keep exploring yourself...this is your time to do such things...and the emotional roller coaster is normal for this age....I hated being 13 but if I had the opportunity to do it again with the knowledge I have gained in 40 years...I'd enjoy it more.

Listen Sweetie, you're just 13. You have your whole life ahead of you. Everything will soon fall into place. You just need to let the magic work and give life and yourself some time..... Please enjoy your school life, family and everthing about YOU! Have some hobbies and for now just let life take care of itself. Dream baby, now is the time to dream......coz when you're older you'll be too busy making them real.

Maybe you are expecting too much from yourself.
You aren't going to make the whole world perfect. Nobody can.
But thank you for trying.
