Preferably on a landline. I am with NTL and the other people (all UK based) are with BT, what is the easiest and cheapest way to do this and how do i go about arranging it?

It doesn't matter what telephone company you're with, but what you do need is an outside agency that has a conference facility:

There's Primex:
Sales / support and general enquiries: 0870 774 0312
Fax: 0870 199 1478
Miura Conference
Telephone: 0800 970 2750

or if you look at Google and type in Conference Calls it'll give you a staggering array of providers.

With most of them you set up a pin code, a dial-in number and a maximum number of lines. Anybody can dial in from anywhere, even mobiles as long as they know the dial-in and can only join if they have the pin. You normally have to set a chair line up, that's the number of whoever hosts the conference. I did zillions of these things as a telecoms analyst/engineer at the post office and they're really easy, believe me.

Hope that's useful.
