We are three women, all classically trained singers, who've recently set-up a trio. We want more performance and exposure so see busking in city of London as good start. We know about Tube licence but what about other public and commercial areas? Can we just turn up and start singing?

You need to get a busking licence from the local council. They are easy enough to get. You can stay in one place 2 hours (except bagpipe players whon are legally restricted to 20 mins). You can move to another spot and busk some more. There are some places where busking is forbidden - check with the council.
I believe you need a new liscence each day, but am not certain.
