If you've had the popping for over 6 months, it may not be possible to get it to go away completely, but conservative treatment may be able to eliminate any pain that you experience. (Although you didn't mention pain, so hopefully, there is none.) By "conservative," I mean simple bite adjustment, an appliance (like a night guard or other), medication, physical therapy, or some combination of all four.

I had TMJ and it was similar. my jaw hurts when I yawn. The dentist told me (and I quote) to "stop chewing gum and dont eat big sandwiches." It is stress related.. It goes away with time. could be months.

It's a very common problem with the TMJ (Temporomandibular Joint), it can be treated a number of ways, your Dentist should be able to talk you through all of them (splint, occlusal adjustment, exercises, cranio sacral therapy etc etc). Nothing to worry about thought, many people have this problem and it's simply more irritating than anything else.

Mine too. This coluld mean many things, such as wisdom teeth, swelling, ect.but it is very serious believe me,I know now,go to the Dr and tell them about it and your symptoms, and you will see also that it is serious. You may need surgery,or...........just medicine, but ithe longer you wait......... the more serious it will become! So go see a Dr that's all! They can't make you do anything you don't want to!!!! Good Luck.

Sounds like TMJ. I am a former orthodontic assistant. I would see your dentist right away. I believe there is not much they can do, but give you night wear for your teeth to help prevent grinding or clenching.
SEE YOUR DENTIST ASAP!!!!!!
