I was combing my cat and on the comb I found very tiny specks of black stuff. I checked him but I couldn't find any creatures in his fur, what is it?

Hi there...these are usually indicative of fleas ...called flea dirt. Even if a cat doesn't go outside, fleas can be brought in on our shoes, clothes from the outdoors or touching another pet who goes outside. EDIT: Since your little guy does go outdoors it most likely then would be fleas.

Here's a website that shows photos of flea dirt and provides some helpful solutions to resolve this: http://www.thepetcenter.com/gen/fleB.html

Frontline, Revolution or Advantage can help head off the development of fleas which can be purchased from a vet or directly from 1-800-Pet Meds: http://www.1800petmeds.com/cat.asp?LV=10

A dewormer should also be considered as cats ingest fleas when they are grooming themselves which causes worm infestation as well. Here's a website that explains this in more detail: http://www.sniksnak.com/cathealth/tapeworms.html
