Unfortunately it is a fact of life that as the body gets older and more ravaged, be it human or canine, the smells are more noticeable. With humans we are able to mask that smell by regular washing and use of deodorants. Poor old dog can't so relies on us to help him or her out. I think after a lifetime of faithful companionship they deserve that don't you?

Most things smell more when they get older dogs and humans being no exception to the rule.
Maybe your not drying your wee furry thing properly let it roll in the muck to dry it's self out properly. All fur pongs after it has been washed and it requires the natural oils from the dog to nutralise these pongy smells.
You should not bath a dog too often and you should only use doggy shampoo..medicated shampoo will only harm the animals natural oils.

Glands make them smell, but maybe she is rolling in something when outside that stinks. Dogs love to roll in smelly things. Don't use that medicated shampoo it makes there skin dry. Try using one with citrus in it and get some spray dog grooming mist for in between the baths it smells good and is easy to use also conditions the hair.

My dog has a skin complaint, an allergy, and it caused her ears to get really itchy and flaky and she had a distinct yeast odour anout her, anyway, she had to be put on a course of tablets, and I was given a special shampoo to use, she has finished the pills now, but to keep her itching at bay i give her a half spoon of Piriton twice a day, and she no longer smells "yeasty"

Dogs don't sweat (except on their nose), perhaps it's kidney related? Don't use human shampoo on her- shampoo is bad for their hair anyway, and a human one would be worse. Overwashing may aggravate any skin problems-is her skin spotty/flaky/sore? If so a vet will be able to give you something for it. Poor smelly old girl! Might not be anything you can do about it, at least she's not incontinent!

A lot of old people have the same. Maybe it is because the vital organs don't work as good as they used to to clean the inside of the body hence the smelling.

Don't wash her too much or w=you may cause skin problems. It could be her teeth (breath issues), her ears (infections) or the hair around her mouth from food.
